About FNP. Roma Bhagia

Roma Bhagia was born in Augusta, Georgia, and moved with her family to Anchorage, Alaska, at the age of five before eventually settling in Calabasas, California. Her path to medicine was inspired by watching her parents dedicate their careers to helping others, sparking a lifelong commitment to the “art of healing” and a natural calling toward nurturing, patient-centered care.

Roma’s academic foundation is distinguished by an extraordinary breadth of knowledge. She earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Neurobiology and English Literature from the University of California, Davis, followed by a third Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Samuel Merritt University. Her academic excellence earned her induction into Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing. She went on to complete her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles.

Before specializing in pain management, Roma refined her clinical skills at Northridge Hospital, where she provided bedside care in high-acuity departments including medical/surgical, oncology, and wound care. She specialized in orthopedic trauma and is Chemotherapy Certified. Her dedication to clinical excellence and compassionate service was recognized with the prestigious DAISY Award, an international honor reserved for nurses who provide extraordinary clinical skill and heart-led care.

Roma, joined the Advanced Pain Medical Group team as their first female a board-certified specialist in Pain Management and Orthopedics. Roma offers specialized expertise in a variety of interventional treatments. She focuses on ultrasound-guided needle techniques, combining a conservative route of medication management with a holistic approach to chronic pain. She has completed advanced coursework in injection administration and is widely recognized by her patients for her “gentle” technique, prioritizing efficiency while ensuring minimal discomfort. To further advance her surgical expertise, she is currently pursuing her Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) credential to provide specialized assistance in complex surgical cases.

Roma’s approach to care is deeply rooted in the belief that “skilled and trained hands can heal others.” She integrates evidence-based interventional treatments with a compassionate, patient-first philosophy, aiming to treat the individual comprehensively rather than just the symptom. She is committed to helping her patients regain function and mobility through precise, thoughtful care.

Roma values the opportunity to round out her expertise through continuous learning and professional development. Whether she is mastering new injection technologies or expanding her surgical skill set, her drive is consistently fueled by the reward of seeing her patients find relief and a restored quality of life.

In her personal time, Roma enjoys experiencing different cultures through unique cuisines and traveling. She also loves to reset from a busy week at the clinic by hiking on the weekends and taking care of her dog and two cats – who are experts at stress relief.
